Internship at Telkomcel (Timor Leste)

"Bondia" good morning
"Botarde" good afternoon
"Bonnoite" good evening
"obrigado" thank you
"maun" & "mana" senior male and senior female
"sensa" excuse me

All the words above is the Tetun language from Timor Leste which used to communicate with residents, especially young people because they cannot speak Bahasa Indonesia. Then, it was a great experience in my life to intern at Telkomcel for 2 months in Dili (the capital of Timor Leste).

At the first time arrived in Dili, I felt the weather was extremely hot and the people look like the eastern part of Indonesian people. Thus, everything becomes expensive in Timor Leste because they used USD. Later on, I realized if the local people are nice and hospitable. The food and the culture are similar to Indonesia but they also had Portuguese food such as Pão.

Telkomcel is a brand of the Timor Leste telecommunication company, a subsidiary of TELIN (PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia Internasional). Basically, the products and services similar to Telkomsel. I like the environment in the office, the staffs including the officer, manager, VP and C-level are nice and friendly.

Ainaro beach
I really deeply love the Ainaro island, the sea color is gorgeous. The picture was taken on the shipboard.

In addition, It was my great experience to learn about business planning & performance and billing & collection department, although I only learned the small part of the financial unit. I hope Telkomcel could be a leader of the telecommunication company in Timor Leste.
