A learning log is a personalized learning resource for someone. In the learning log you must write the responses from a topic or problem in your school. It's also created a unique record about the topic and the way someone thinking about that topic/problem. Learning log will develop your ability in writing, establish your personal journal. which is becoming one of the activities that have a major impact to develop the independent learner for a student.

Franchising and the entrepreneur

I have learned about franchising. Franchising is a business system in term of semi-independent, which the business owner (franchises) buys the trademark (brand, system, product, service, operation procedure and others) to the parent business (franchiser). Then, why is franchising must pay fee obligation and loyalty to the franchiser. Because the franchisor gives them experiences and procedure for doing their business. But the business owner will bound by contract to the franchisor. Franchising widely used in food and beverage sector, but lately spread out in health, beauty, adult care, learning services, car wash and others.

Franchising was very popular in American and gives the contributions to increase the gross profit to their country. the example of the international franchising company in the US is Mc Donald that success and has a lot of franchises around the world. They established the quality standard of their product and they choose the strategic area to build the franchise. So their product will be same. However, if the local communities dislike their product, Mc Donald makes the innovation such as to eliminate some ingredients and change it. I like to study about this chapter. However, franchising is not suitable for the entrepreneur that wants to take full control of their business. The control comes from the franchisor and we must follow their rules. Sometimes if we want to be the independent from our franchisor, we must pay some fees for them. I think if I have a lot of money I don’t want to make franchising business, but I will create my own business. Because franchising produces less creativity and innovation. I prefer to buy a licensing than franchising because I can make innovation in the product. I can make my own brand with licensing. A lot of people choose franchising because they want to follow the success business without experience.

Studying overseas, teach me if I want to rich I should become a business person. I already practice about business. I ever sell a product when I'am in Senior High School. Then, I set-up my business because I don’t have enough time to manage between school and my business. I also ever join an MLM (multi-level marketing). Then, I stop my MLM after two months I join the member. I think this business is not fair. So I was stopped all my business and focus studying. But, business is hard to do. Learn about business not only from the university itself, but I can learn about business from outside.
